Make Disciples and Reap Benefits

Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations of all peoples, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.
— Matthew 28:19-20

Toward the end of his ministry on earth, Jesus Christ gives us the great commission to “Go and make disciples of all nations….”

Our Heavenly Father desires us to join Him in helping others in your life become part of the family of God. He also gives you all you need to accomplish this great responsibility. Not only are you equipped with the transformational Word of God you also have the Holy Spirit’s wisdom on how to best present the greatest love story in the world; the forgiveness of all sin and the promise of eternal life to all who place their trust in Christ. But, the fun doesn’t end there.

God wants you to make His Kingdom the number one priority in your life. And the job comes with great benefits. Jesus promises this: “God will give you all you need from day to day if you live for Him and make the kingdom of God your primary concern.” (Matthew 6:33).

WOW! Did you get that? Well, just in case you are speed reading, slow down to take in what Jesus is saying. As you share God’s gift of Salvation through Christ and making disciples your priority, your Heavenly Father faithfully promises to meet every one of your needs. As you give of your time and life, all of your needs are met.

So, take a moment now and make your list of people in your life who need Christ. Who are your family members, friends, colleagues, classmates, neighbors that God wants you to lead to His saving grace? Add them to your daily prayers too. Ask God to use you to reach, teach, and keep them as disciples. Now, go and make it a great day!
